Research what is going to work well. Make sure you are wearing gloves and proper gear; read the labels of the pest control chemicals so you know what should be out of range of people and how long until each type is safe for re-entry. Some chemicals are made for non-living areas only. There are also pest control products that are or are not safe for pets too.
